The Investment Administrator will provide back office investment operations support to the Investment Accounting and Finance departments. The person in this role will ensure accurate and timely administration and accounting for the company's complex portfolio of investments according to regulatory standards, industry guidelines and company policies. Primary challenges of this position include handling a high volume of varied work, coping with extensive detail, and working under demanding deadlines. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Ensuring proper administration, accounting and correspondent/servicing support for all mortgages and real estate activities Balancing of the bank interfaces to the account system totals and resolving any discrepancies Reconciling the mortgage suspense account and performing reconciliation of principal to correspondents Providing accurate and timely mortgages and real estate accounting information (STAT, GAAP, Tax and Management) Preparing of quarterly and annual financial statement information and coordinating these activities with the Finance department Providing coverage for other areas within the Back Office Investment Operations as needed (securities, derivatives, etc.) Working on special projects as required THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING: REQUIRED: An associate degree with a concentration in finance, accounting or a strong finance or accounting background Two to five years of mortgage processing experience or equivalent business experience Knowledge of complex investments, including but not limited to: mortgage loans, real estate, derivatives, private placements, fixed income and equity securities Expertise in investment accounting systems A good understanding of accounting requirements for investment products in accordance with STAT and GAAP accounting principles Strong customer service, communication (verbal and written), problem solving and organizational skills Strong attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access) PREFERRED: A bachelor's degree with a concentration in finance or accounting Five or more years of mortgage processing experience Industry education designations (FLMI, CLU, ChFC, etc.) encouraged Tracing its corporate origins to 1909, Ohio National markets a variety of insurance and financial products through more than 50,000 representatives in 49 states (all except New York), the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and through affiliated operations in South America.
