Our products include standard surety, commercial surety and miscellaneous non:contract surety and fidelity. We are seeking a Senior Claim Processing Technician to support our growing team in the Bond division. The person hired for this position will provide support to the Bond Division:Claims Department in areas requiring specialized skills or anizes assigned work and performs claims processing and payment functions on large volumes of claims. Answers and responds to inquiries and gathers appropriate information.Answers departmental calls to the Claim group and assists accordingly or routes to the appropriate individual.Perform mail and file functions. Utilizes the company systems to identify the appropriate recipient of correspondence within or outside the company. Sorts and distributes mail. Performs general processing to include updating manuals. Assists with claim reports, claims setup and entry, imaging or indexing, processing recovery and processing drafts.May coordinate / maintain contractor or vendor database, assigned manuals, repetitive payment schedule and bulk billing system.Assists Claims staff in setting up appointments, keeping records, performing routine follow:up and ensuring that bills are sent out.Performs other duties as assigned.Associates Degree or equivalent work experience. 2 years of experience in the insurance industry is preferred. Strong customer service skills. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Strength in establishing and adjusting priorities as needed. Strong time management skills and the ability to multi:task in a fast:paced environment.Accurate data entry skills and ability to enter information into departmental database, as well as maintain the database, system folders and files.Experience in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook. PowerPoint is a plus. Must be able to grasp working knowledge of legacy and proprietary computer programs.
