Job Description
Summary of Responsibilities:
Provides accounting and financial support to ensure adequate internal controls and efficiency of procedures and processes within the Accounting department to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and accounting. Works closely with staff and management across the organization on various projects and initiatives to improve processes and procedures to further drive the growth and success of the company.
Position Responsibilities:
Provides support to Accounting Management in processing month:end close and account analysis. Responsible for preparation of detail account analysis, journal entries, G/L account reconciliations, account roll: forwards, budget vs. actual analysis, system balancing and all other tasks required to close month:end on a timely basis and maintain G/L account integrity.
Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecast. Duties to include processing/review of data input for reasonableness and accuracy with respect to prior year, current budget and trends.
Calculates monthly, quarterly and annual bonus and commission payments per the various individual sales incentive plans for all Field and National Account Sales teams. Coordinates approval and payment with the Human Resources and Sales Department.
Assists in the development of accounting policies and procedures, providing accounting guidance and ensuring compliance with federal law and internal control requirements.
Prepares internal and external reporting under GAAP and reviews daily cash reporting and monthly cash forecasting.
Prepares all monthly field and other cost center financial reporting. Investigates, reviews, and analyzes the variance explanations, involving the department staff in this process. Takes initiative to manage trouble shooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement.
Works closely with finance and non:finance organizations (including but not limited to Field Sales, Marketing, HR, IT and National Account Sales) staff and management across the organization on various projects and initiatives.
Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
Selection Criteria:
Possesses extensive knowledge and experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) standards, codes, and concepts to ensure they are being followed. Has proven accounting experience in either the public or private sectors.
Must have financial reporting experience including exposure to full set of Financial Statements and all aspect of GL accounting; exposure to Payroll a plus.
Must possess exceptional analytical skills.
Demonstrates self:motivation, is capable of taking initiative, has successfully handled and prioritized multiple competing priorities and effectively manages deadlines.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and have strong rapport with the executive team, colleagues, and subordinates.
Strong written and verbal communication, project management and interpersonal skills.
Highly analytical and detail oriented with an inquisitive ability for problem solving.
Possesses and demonstrates solid business acumen.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Computer skills and knowledge of hardware and software required:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with Great Plains and/or Microsoft CRM a plus
Position Demands:
Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
