Position Summary

The Sr. HR Operations Specialist partners with CDKs principal outsourcing providers and third-party vendors to facilitate completion of payroll, time keeping and leave administration tasks. This includes reviewing and analyzing CDK Global and vendor documents, responding and researching complex payroll issues as well as providing appropriate resolution. Recommends process enhancements related to case resolution/correction and general outputs. May lead projects and mentor less experienced team members.

Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

  • Considered a subject-matter-expert, serves as the point of escalation for complex payroll related issues to company employees, HR Business Partners and management
  • Researches and responds to difficult requests concerning payroll programs and interpretation of HR policies impacting payroll operations
  • Responsible for the investigation of data issues, data corrections, and changes related to payroll, time keeping and leave administration to ADP
  • Supports the administration of time and pay data, and audits it for accuracy
  • Partners with the Manager, Payroll Operations to coordinate internal resources and third party vendors to ensure the successful completion of projects and interfaces
  • Utilizes HRIS systems to document and process activities such as new-hire onboarding, change of status, performance evaluation, benefits, and termination of employment
  • Leads projects and mentors less experienced team members
  • Other duties including Workers Compensation Claims, Unemployment Escalations, Leave Administration and Time and Attendance processing and other tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Min. 4 years of prior experience in the HR field
  • Associates Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
  • Prior experience in a Shared Services Center environment
  • Experience supporting payroll, benefits, and leave processing functions or vendors performing these functions
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll policies, practices and applicable laws
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong customer service aptitude
  • Ability to independently resolve complex issues across multiple disciplines
  • Proficiency using HR/Payroll Systems for input, processing and reconciliation/audit
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently


  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
  • Prior experience with Success Factors, Kronos/ADP Enterprise or eTime, ADP EV5 HR, SAP Payroll or PeopleSoft
