The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Kavitha Subramanian:Vignesh. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.
We have a position available for a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Kavitha Subramanian:Vignesh with background in Immunology and Infectious diseases (preferably fungal / bacterial immunology). Our primary goal is to reveal novel roles for metalloproteins in immunological processes and inflammation. This project will involve studying novel pathways that regulate fundamental behaviors of immune cells, responses to fungal infection and inflammatory processes that influence antimicrobial defense mechanisms. The selected candidate will have access to state:of:the:art facilities available at both UC and CCHMC and will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative research environment.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must have a Ph.D or MD/Ph.D degree in life sciences. Knowledge of innate and adaptive immunity to infections is required. Prior experience with in vitro and in vivo approaches (mouse models), molecular biology, cell culture, immunological techniques such as flow cytometry is expected. Knowledge and hands:on experience with CRISPR is desired. Successful candidate must have proven track record of publications, be highly productive, self:motivated, independent, willing to incorporate new ideas and techniques and have strong verbal and written scientific communication skills.
