The School of Design aims to prepare its students to be skilled professionals who can ably work in local and global markets while respecting the diversity of the human community. The School of Design is innovative in teaching and in transforming the design disciplines by infusing learning with the newest design thinking methods and technologies. Our undergraduate and graduate programs empower students in our School of Design with a core of knowledge that provides a solid educational base. Our students are prepared for careers in fashion, communication design, and industrial design by a passionate faculty, rigorous academic endeavors, and a world:class professional practice (co:op) program.
Communication Design undergraduate Adjunct Instructors support the mission of the program by administering core curriculum courses. As any Communication Design instructor is a representative of the program, it is important that this role is met with professionalism at all levels and a dedication to excellence in the academic experience of our students. In some cases, Adjunct Instructors may be asked to communicate and collaborate with other faculty members of multi:section courses.
: Administer existing core curriculum syllabi with potential modification
: Submit grades for all students enrolled in course
: Refer students with any special needs or circumstances to DAAP advisers when necessary
: Coordinate with other faculty members for multi:section course alignment
Minimum Qualifications: A professional degree in graphic design or digital design or an equivalent terminal degree with experience in the field of communication design. Rank of appointment will be conferred based on prior teaching and professional experience. All adjunct faculty report to the School Director.
