The College of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Division of Transplantation is looking for an Assistant Professor of Clinical : GEO with an interest in vascular access. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.
Summary: This position joins an active faculty group dedicated to a clinical practice support of transplantation patients, oncology patients, patients needing access for nutritional infusion, and resident teaching activities of Surgery residents and fellows, and research. The ideal candidate will have an interest in comprehensive vascular access services including, but not exclusive to, solid organ transplantation. The candidate will participate in operating room and ward teaching, and advising, train and direct activities of surgical trainees and medical students.
Minimum Qualifications: MD or equivalent; completion of a five year accredited residency in Surgery, BC/BE in General Surgery alone, or in some cases with specialty training in Vascular Surgery or Transplantation Surgery.
Ideal Qualifications: Additional experience in vascular access surgery is advantageous. Licensure by Ohio Medical Board is required by time of appointment. Candidates should have a clear interest in education of resident surgeons and medical students as well as demonstrate a commitment to an academic career through research, teaching, and supporting the department's academic mission.
