The Department of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a full:time academic general thoracic surgeon to join our team. This position will join an active faculty group dedicated to supporting the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in all our activities. The Division of Thoracic Surgery has a busy and growing thoracic surgical practice that is part of the University of Cincinnati Cancer Institute. The University of Cincinnati Medical Center is the only academic medical center in the region.
Summary: On a full:time limited basis, a clinical faculty members primary responsibility is patient care, patient support, and/or teaching and program development in the clinical sciences. May also contribute to clinical research, the scholarly and service missions of the university, administrative service, and other educational activities, expectations for which may be described in letters of appointment and in their unit reappointment and promotion criteria.
Job Duties: Candidates should be proficient in all aspects of general thoracic surgery, including minimally invasive procedures. Candidates must also be committed to an academic career that combines outstanding patient care with excellent teaching and research activities. A key component of this position involves teaching medical students as well as residents in both general surgery and thoracic surgery residency programs, including a newly established integrated thoracic residency.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with the ABTS. Candidates should be proficient in all aspects of general thoracic surgery, including minimally invasive procedures.
