The University of Cincinnati Clermont College invites applications for Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. UC Clermont College is located in the center of Clermont County on 91 beautiful wooded acres in Batavia Township 30 miles east of the Clifton Campus. Opened in 1972, Clermont College is an accredited, open:access college. Clermont College is a regional college of the University of Cincinnati, with an enrollment of approximately 2,900 students. The college offers primarily associate degrees, numerous certificates, and baccalaureate degrees. The college also boasts a significant population participating in Ohio's dual:enrollment program. The individual in this role would be the chief academic officer responsible for all academic matters, including academic planning, faculty affairs, and academic success of students. The position reports directly to the Dean of the UC Clermont College.
The roles and responsibilities of the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs include:
:Coordinating activities of the Academic Unit Heads in support of the college's academic mission;
:Providing leadership for strategic initiatives;
:Overseeing academic program, university, state, and Higher Learning Commission approval and accreditation processes;
:Enhancing student academic success, including retention, graduation and transition to baccalaureate programs;
:Overseeing the development, revision, and closure of academic programs;
:Supporting and promoting faculty development.
:Supervising academic support services;
:Coordinating with Institutional Research on reporting and providing required data;
:Participating on appropriate college governance committees and task forces;
:Managing student and faculty concerns;
:Serving on the Dean's Administrative Team.
:Serving on UC Associate Deans Council and other appropriate university committees and task forces;
:Maintaining academic liaison relationships with UC colleges and administration;
:Collaborating with the Provost's Office on appropriate university:wide initiatives.
Regional and State Level Responsibilities:
:Serving as liaison to the region's educational institutions and to the Ohio Department of Higher Education;
:Collaborating with the Dean and other appropriate offices to fulfill statewide initiatives;
:Serving as liaison to the Higher Learning Commission.
:History of academic excellence particularly in the area of teaching as well as in scholarship and service;
:Experience in curriculum development;
:Collaborative management style that fosters trust, respect, and successful working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administrators;
:Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills;
:Ability to manage a budget strategically, efficiently and effectively;
:Minimum of two years of experience in an academic:administrative position at the level of department head or higher;
:Qualified to be tenured at the level of associate or full professor.
