Division of Student Affairs
The Division of Student Affairs is seeking an Assistant Director-Student Organizations and Advisor Development. This position reports tothe Director of Student Activities and Leadership Development (SALD), the Assistant Director of Student Organizations and Advisor Development. The Assistant Directorcontributes to the overall goals of the student activities office by supporting students' intellectual, social, and cultural activities. The Assistant Director for Student Organizations and Advisor Development cultivates relationships with individual students and student organizations, attends to student developmental issues through formal and informal means, and acts as a liaison between students and other campus departments. This position provides strategic and transformational oversight in empowering student leaders and creates a supportive environment for student organizations to reach new heights. The Assistant Director is a key leader in the department and acts as the Director's proxy as needed.
General Duties
:Serve on the SALD Leadership Team
:Budget management and oversight
:Advises the Student Activities Board
:Advises Aspiring Student Affairs Professionals Organization
Student Organizations
:Coordinates the University recognition and reregistrationperiod for all student organizations
:Assists in the development of 400+ Student Organizations at the University of Cincinnati
:Conducts annual Student Organization Advisor Training and semester round tables
:Serves as office liaison for all major student organization events
:Supports the Annual Student Organization Celebration for Student Involvement
:Works collaboratively with the University Funding Board Advisor on student organization eligibility
:Drafts weekly newsletter to inform students and advisors of various programming on campus.
:Maintains and updates Student Organization and Advisor Handbooks/Manuals to ensure all policies and procedures are relevant and compliant with Federal, State, University, etc., regulations.
:Supports semesterly involvement fairs
:Support the Development and implementation of new student organization training workshops
:Maintains accurate and up to date organization directory
:Engages distant learning students through exploration of Co:Curricular Activities
:Manages Student Organization Resource Rental Program
:Composes the Annual State of Student Organizations Report
:Serves as staff lead for the Student Impact Symposium
Student Activities and Leadership Development
:Primary oversight for Campus Link-Online Engagement Portal for Students
:Assists with departmental and programmatic assessment for student organizations
:Manages operational expenses within an established budget
:Assists in efforts to achieve annual SALD office:wide goals
:Partner with faculty and staff to ensure SALD's place as an integral part of the academic mission of the institution
:Supervises 2:3 full time professionals
:Supervise office Intern(s)/Graduate Assistant
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree with three (3) years of experience; :OR: Associate degree with five (5) years of experience; :OR: seven (7) years of related experience. Degree must be in a related field. Experience must include program management. Experience may also require at least one (1) year supervision.
