Under minimal supervision, the Business Development Manager, Trade Promotion Solutions, is responsible for selling new business for the Inmar Promotion Network. The core sales focus in this position will be Inmar Scanner Applications Trade Promotion Solutions, focusing on new customer acquisition from a defined list of prospects. He/she will also gain a comprehensive understanding of and sell other network solutions, including processing and settlement for coupons, rebate solutions, analytics, and consulting to targeted accounts. The individual in this role should have a CPG background with knowledge and experience in Trade Promotion Management tactics and strategies combined with sales experience in the CPG industry. Extensive contacts, or ability to network, within major CPGA?s is a key component of this position. The Business Development Manager, Trade Promotion Solutions will manage client relationships including budgeting, analytics review, and annual promotion planning. The Business Development Manager, Trade Promotion Solutions ensures the companys business relationships with targeted accounts are effectively cultivated; makes presentations and recommendations to potential ClientsA? management representatives; develops strategic solutions; negotiates pricing and legal agreements; and prepares detailed correspondence. Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:Obtain A?expertA? level understanding of Inmar Scanner Applications Trade solutions with the ability to sell customers and act as a subject matter expert for trade promotion services in broader corporate sales efforts. Develop and maintain expertise on industry trends, technology, best practices, and regulations of relevance to the promotion networkDevelop and maintain senior level strategic relationshipsCreate/develop innovative networking skills to drive pipeline development at the decision making levelSell software and consultative solutions in a retail environment or CPG manufacturer environmentLeverage InmarA?s market position to drive strategic solutions in a complex sales environmentCreate and deliver value based solution pricingGain interest and successfully introduce new products to the marketDevelop presentations and strategy associated with salesManage internal communications, garner support and get appropriate buy:inPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:A BachelorA?s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four:year college or university. MBA a plus.5:10 years of demonstrated successful experience in solutions sales or successful demonstration of the other requirements indicated below; CPG sales/trade or relevant industry experience a mustSales performance consistently in the top 10 vs. peer groupProven sales skills to cross products and sell a variety of different solutionsAbility to deal with price pressure and successfully resolve with strong profit marginsAbility to discern the solution that is best for the customer and the value range they are willing to payProven ability to chase, cultivate and close strategic dealsAdept at developing strategy, positioning and working relationshipsStrong questioning skills and the patience to hear customer outDemonstrates good decision making when to leverage additional resources to move deals past obstaclesExtensive experience in developing and winning business in a highly competitive environmentProven success selling promotion solutions, digital and/or mediaExperience in team sales
