Position Description: The Server Administrators role is to design, install, administer and optimize UCIT servers and related components to achieve reliability and high performance of the numerous business applications supported by UCIT. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring all new implementations and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment. Where applicable, the Server Administrator will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center/server farm.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in an Information Technology field such as Computer Science, Engineering and Information Science or 5+ years experience in administrating large:scale Enterprise Server Environments. Experience must include Microsoft Active Directory, Linux and Windows server administration. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a customer service attitude, and the ability to work well in a team:oriented environment. Successful candidates will have strong troubleshooting skills with expertise in building and supporting server class hardware, including blade server architecture.

Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a strong working knowledge with VMWare, HyperV and XenServer hypervisors and Windows Server Clustering technologies. A good understanding of TSM, F5 BIG:IP load balancing, DNS, and LDAP recommended. Other desired skills include SQL and Oracle Clustering, Linux, HTML, Language Scripting and familiarity with SAN environments. In addition, the successful candidate will provide leadership in critical areas of ITUC, such as, account management, customer service management and process improvement.
