Overview
The Freestore Foodbank, based in Cincinnati, is one of Ohios largest foodbanks. Our mission is to provide food and services, create stability and further self:reliance for people in crisis. We are currently seeking a full:time Special Events Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
x200B;Plans and implements fundraising special events and works to grow events in size, revenue, and awareness
Evaluates, recommends and implements decisions regarding venue, timing, contractors, ticket pricing, promotion, and collaborations.
Develops and manages event timetable to ensure smooth and efficient execution of event. Thoroughly documents event procedures for use in future years.
Helps to cultivate and maintain sponsors for Freestore Foodbank signature events and explore and create alternative sponsorship opportunities.
Implements sponsorship agreements as they relate to events.
Executes and reports on all sponsor activation at signature events.
Develops and stewards collaborative relations with participants, sponsors, vendors, agencies and media.
Maximizes the effort of volunteers in planning the events, particularly through event committees. Serves as Freestore Foodbank liaison to event committees.
Assists the Volunteer Services Department with recruitment and supervision of volunteers for special events.
Assists with publicity for each event (Conceives and implements promotional opportunities and marketing collateral for events).
Responsible for keeping event expenditures within budget by choosing vendors, maximizing in:kind donations and tracking expenses.
Works with corporations, agencies and donors to guide and support special events that they initiate to raise money, product, and awareness for the Freestore Foodbank.
Evaluates cost/effort versus return in taking on new events, makes recommendations to improve effectiveness of each event, and works to ensure that the event supports the mission and image of the Freestore Foodbank.
Leads constituency management functions for Blackbaud Illuminate (Convio) events.
Maximizes participant use of online options. Coordinates with Web and Communications staff to develop and implement online and social media strategies for events.
Preferred Qualifications:
Four year degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations or related field plus 2 to 3 years of experience, or 4 to 6 years directly related experience.
Experience in project management and implementing strategic plans. At minimum, the ideal candidate must have 1 to 2 years of experience supervising and developing volunteers.
Ability to develop and implement strategic and business plans.
Able to interact with a wide range of people in social and professional situations.
Flexible and a team player.
Detailed orientated and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft software.
Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
