The Department of German Studies at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor : Educator with expertise in second language acquisition. Duties will include coordination of the basic language program in German, training and coordinating graduate assistants in language instruction, and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The position begins in the fall 2018 semester and is 100 FTE, non:tenure:track, and within the UC:AAUP bargaining unit with opportunities for renewal. The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and to developing an innovative and successful basic language instruction program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in German Studies or equivalent degree in hand or certified by July 1, 2018. Additional qualifications include:
Experience or capability in second language acquisition
Ability to coordinate a language program, including training and mentoring graduate teaching assistants
Ability to teach a variety of German Studies courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
