Veterinarian needed to fill a part time position, with the possibility of developing into full time, in our busy well established small animal hospital located in Cincinnati, Ohio. No after hour emergencies. Our clinic is a locally owned, three doctor practice that has had the pleasure of serving our families for over 100 years. We pride ourselves on treating every pet as if they were our own. We have 2 locations. Our main clinic is equipped with 3 exam rooms, full surgical suite, high speed dental unit, digital radiographs, K-Laser therapy, in-house Idexx chemistry analyzer and outside reference lab linked to Avimark practice management software. Our second location, approximately 10 minutes away from the main location, focuses on outpatient medicine. We are currently seeking to add a fourth veterinarian who is team oriented and has excellent communication skills with fellow colleagues, staff and clients to provide continued high quality care for our patients.

We are looking for a candidate who has a pleasant personality and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The candidate should be able to maintain a pleasant appearance and dress professionally. We are also looking for someone who has the ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast paced environment as well as the ability to have fun in a relaxed atmosphere with co-workers. We love practicing veterinary medicine and we want you to love it too. We are happy to mentor new graduates.

-Effectively discuss client concerns and needs when treating their pet in person or on the phone.
-Proficient in small animal medicine, surgery and dentistry.
-Generate and discuss a treatment plan for the patient with clients including preventative health care, vaccinations, appropriate nutritional supplements and diagnostic options.
-Maintain medical and surgical records utilizing established protocols.
-Perform and assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.
-Stay current with new medical information and attend continuing education meetings.
-Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public while upholding our standards of care.
-DVM degree and ready to work independently after a mentoring period with an experienced veterinarian.
-Licensure in good standing to practice in Ohio.
-Two professional or academic (recent graduates) references.

About Lewis Animal Hospital

Lewis Animal Hospital was established in 1914 by Gaylord T. Lewis (Dr. Tim Lewis’ grandfather). The original practice location was at 7121 Paddock Road in Carthage. Dr. Gaylord C. Lewis (Dr. Tim’s dad) graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1940. He then joined his father’s practice, and eventually became a partner.Dr. Tim Lewis graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. He then joined the practice and ran it until his retirement in 2010.Dr. Les Polasky worked for Dr. Lewis for 5 years (1979-1984) prior to attending vet school. He graduated from the Ohio State University in 1988. The then joined the practice in 1990 and eventually became a partner. Upon Dr. Lewis’s retirement he became the sole owner of the practice. Dr. Larry Keller graduated from Auburn University in 2004 and joined the practice in 2006. Dr. Heather Keller graduated from Auburn University in 2001 and joined her husband at the practice in January of 2016.
