The Office of the Bursar is currently seeking an Accountant. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Loans and Collections, this individual will also support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all other activities.
Job Summary: Provide day:to:day accounting support to the Loans and Collection Office, including posting payments, account reconciliation, service indicator management and other duties based on department needs.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
:Reconciliation of loan funds, student accounts and third:party reports
:Post transactions in PeopleSoft and loan platform
:Prepare Perkin loans for Assignment to the Department of Education
:Prepare documentation for Attorney General Office, Special Counsel and/or Collection agencies
:Serve as a back:up to Accountant 2
The selected candidate will be expected to perform accounting job functions in one or more assigned area(s) with minimal to moderate supervision. Work assignments will require:
:Computer skills
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree : OR: Associates degree with two (2) years' experience :OR: four (4) years' experience; degree must be in accounting or related field with related accounting experience. Incumbent must possess the business/fiscal experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all work assignments.
Preferred Qualifications: Excellent problem:solving skills, working knowledge of PeopleSoft and SAP Financials, ability to work successfully in a team environment and be results focused.
