The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine Division of Cardiovascular Health and Disease, is looking for a Senior Business Administrator. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.
Job Summary: Direct financial and administrative activities for a large complex division of 45 faculty and staff with a budget in excess of 20 million. Responsibilities include day:to:day administration of specialized activities related to business operations management, including income generation and expense management. Function as the senior:level financial and administrative officer of division by providing recommendation and advice to management and other groups on process related topics in accordance with local, state, federal, and university regulations.
:Under the direction of the Executive Director of Business and Administration and Division Chair, the Senior Business Administrator will manage the financial, administrative, and clinical operational activities of Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Health and Disease;
:Direct all business operations of the division, including but not limited to, accounting, payroll, purchasing, budgets, asset management, contract negotiations, audits, etc.
:Direct the administrative grant application and on:going grants management process
:Direct the human resource function of the division (recruitment, payroll, faculty time studies, etc.) and supervise staff.
:Direct the development of business plans for new and on:going business ventures
:Analyze existing operations for efficiency and effectiveness.
:Develop performance improvement initiatives resulting in operational improvements.
:Participation and regular attendance on Department/College of Medicine/UC Physicians committees and task forces and continuing education activities
:Direct the long:term strategic planning process of the division to ensure financial health of the division
:Ensure Department/College of Medicine/UC Physicians senior management is well:informed on issues impacting the division
:Direct the facilities management of the division, including development of new space, renovation of existing space and relocations to alternate space
:Support the compliance activities of the division, including all regulatory compliance, clinical trials, billing, animal care, etc.
:Support the research and educational activities of the division
:Support/direct the marketing and public relations efforts of the division
:Support the development efforts of the division
:Support the IT needs of the division
:Oversee patient account billing and reporting in an efficient manner to ensure collection of appropriate revenues
:Facilitate all audits and information reporting to Department and UC Physicians in a timely manner
:Direct the administrative clinical trial process in a manner compliant with all appropriate rules and regulations
:Support the success and enforcement of the corporate practice plan
:In cooperation with Department leadership, direct the clinical operations of the division in an effective and efficient manner including the coordination of the professional liability insurance program
:Ensure the operation of the division in an effective, efficient and legal manner
Bachelors degree with three (3) years' experience; degree must be in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field. Master's degree preferred. Financial and administrative experience is required and must include three (3) years supervision. Incumbent must possess the business/financial experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all work assignments.
