The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UCBA) invites applications for a manager of the Writing and Study Skills Center (WSSC) within the English and Communication Department. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, Ohio, with an enrollment of approximately 5100 students.

The Writing and Study Skills Center offers UCBA students support with writing, reading, study skills, and student success strategies. The manager will help foster an environment of continuous improvement and excellence in undergraduate learning and teaching in an open access college with a diverse population.

Reporting to the Faculty Director, the WSSC Manager will provide academic tutoring for students for 16:20 hours per week, supporting their learning from a holistic, student:success oriented perspective in one:on:one or small group sessions delivered in person or online. In addition to working with students, the manager will be responsible for supervising a staff of academic tutors and student workers. Responsibilities will include managing the Centers daily schedules, ensuring coverage during hours of operations; serving as payroll timekeeper; overseeing and leading workplace training and team building; assisting the Director in developing and leading discipline:specific professional development workshops for tutors and other UCBA community members; working with the Director to hire tutors and staff; conducting the annual performance review process for WSSC employees; and other related duties based on the Centers need.

Regular schedule may require evening or weekend hours.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree with three (3) years experience; :OR: Associates degree with five (5) years experience; :OR: seven (7) years experience. Experience must be in program development or business administration.

Ideal Qualifications: Masters degree in English or another relevant field. At least one year supervision experience. Experience working in an academic support center environment. Experience with online tutoring and/or with digital learning platforms.
