If you are an electrical engineering professional, either experienced or just out of college and you are interested in designing electrical control systems for a fast paced, established company, join the Tech King team We are looking for engineers to design and implement control systems for automated material handling equipment. This is
project/application:based work that provides new and varied technical challenges from one project to the next. Application development and testing will take place in the office. Completed work is installed and tested at the clients facility.

Controls Engineer : Electrical Design and PLC Programming

Job Responsibilities

As a Controls Engineer, you will be involved in projects from the concept phase through design, programming, testing and onsite support. You will serve as the primary point of contact between clients and our company and will have direct interaction with the clients throughout each project. On large projects, you will work within a design team and for smaller projects you will work on your own with supervision from your manager.

Your specific duties as a Controls Engineer will include:

Using AutoCAD for electrical design including device layout, schematic and control panel design and communication architecture.
Meeting with both client and internal project teams to define applications and produce functional specification documents
Component selection and bill of material preparation
Configuring standard PLC programs for real:time control of automated equipment and collection of diagnostic and production data.
Customizing standard products to meet the requirements of each project.
Develop application programs to control automated equipment based upon specific electrical and mechanical system design as well as operational requirements.
Creating application programs for Human Machine Interface screen design
Writing interfaces to devices such as network I/O, variable speed drives, camera and laser scanner ID systems and scales.
Conducting in:house preliminary testing and onsite testing of the system as installed at the customers facility.
Interact with mechanical engineering, control panel fabrication and electrical installation personnel
Providing customer training and support
Generating project specific documentation using standard company formats.
Participating in design reviews with project teams
Providing continuing support for finished projects
Provide sales support, including giving presentations as required

Controls Engineer : Electrical Design and PLC Programming

Job Requirements
As a Controls Engineer, you must be self:motivated and dedicated with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to easily adapt to changing situations. You must also have strong technical, programming and team leadership skills as well as solid organizational, time:management and prioritization skills. It is also important for you to have excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of people at all levels of expertise.

Specific qualifications for the Controls Engineer position include:

BSEE, EET degree or equivalent
Experience in the material handing/equipment controls industry preferred but not required
Experience with the following:
o Control Systems
Engineering/Electrical Engineering
o 3:Phase power and electrical circuits
o National Electric Code
o AutoCAD
o PLC Programming Logic
o Communication Networking
o Microsoft Office
Strong troubleshooting skills
Excellent client follow:through skills
Ability to work effectively in a warehouse environment for system testing, including climbing ladders and moving around on platforms to maneuver in and around equipment
Flexibility to travel around the country, often via air
