The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management (CAECM) seeks to recruit for a tenure track position at the (Full) Professor level with expertise in Heavy and Highway Engineering. Exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor Level will be considered. The expected start date for the position is January 1, 2017. Rank, salary, and start up funding will be negotiated commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Heavy and Highway Engineering and Construction for all three departmental programs. The primary mode of instruction will be a traditional classroom setting but the ability to develop on:line courses is desirable. Other duties include participation in service related activities, developing an externally funded research program in the field of expertise, advising graduate and undergraduate students, and publishing research results in professional journals. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to participate in curriculum and course development.
Minimum qualifications: An earned doctoral degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or a closely related field. Experience in developing and a record of excellence in teaching heavy/highway civil construction related courses at the college level. A record of publishing in peer:reviewed construction related journals and/or on construction related topics in the area of heavy/highway construction.
A record of sustained research funding in heavy/highway construction related areas.
Active participation in construction related professional societies and/or construction related areas in general engineering societies. Demonstrated familiarity with the US heavy/highway construction industry. Some experience in managing/leading an academic program within a department.
CAECM offers undergraduate degrees in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, and Architectural Engineering as well as Master and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering. Graduate degrees have an option for a concentration in Construction Engineering and Management.

The ideal candidate will be able to form collaborative relationships within the College, across the University, with regional industry and government agencies.
