Original band is looking for a keyboard player

We're an all original band looking to add a keyboardist. We have guitar bass drums and vocals. We are in our 40's and write songs that sound a little like classic rock. Practice is once a week for 2 hrs. in Covington Ky. We have a demo cd and some mp3s we can send. We are looking for someone who can add some different types of keyboard sounds such as piano organ synth etc. Our songs are already written so you don't need to write music. Also vocals are a plus.

I have 20+ years experience playing a variety of styles. Pro gear. I would prefer an established working band, but would definitely consider a new project with experienced players. A contemporary jazz group would be ideal, but a blues/R&B or R&B/soul band would be good, too. I'm not at all interested in blues/rock.

Looking for a Drummer

Looking for a Drummer

Guitar Player and Bass Player Looking for a Drummer. Looking to play ALL originals. Maybe some covers here and there. We have 12 FINISHED and SOLID songs, and Loads (20?) of others in various stages of completion.

We both sing, and our sound is a full sound. Maybe look for another member later, (keys or something) Just need someone to rock the drums, and if you wanna sing, cool! If you can’t just be in one band don’t waste your time.

We are in our late 20’s. Looking to play out in the Spring. We practice on the Weekends, Friday and Saturdays. Maybe change it to Fri and Sunday after football is over. We work on the Weekdays so weekends would have to suffer.

There are only 2 types of music to us, music we like and music we don’t. So we like a lot of different sorts or things.

Floyd, Zappa, Zeppelin, Dead, Dr. Dre, Steel Dan, Phish, Alice in Chains, Primus, AC/DC, Hendrix, STP, Nirvana, Rush, Tool, hopefully you get the idea...

We have practice space in Camp Washington. Right off 75.

Still interested?

"Hard Rock" Band Seeks Bass - My Response

You would think after months of trying to get a bass player and having no luck you would...
1. Change your approach
2. Stop acting like an ass in your ads
3. Look in some other state were you haven't pissed off all the bass players
4. Learn to play the bass yourself
or my suggestion, just go away.

Experienced Guitar Player Looking for Band Situation

posted: November 1, 2009, 09:45 AM

Is there any musicians out there like me?
I'm a Band experienced guitar player between 35-45 with small children so gigging multiple times a week isn't really an option. However, I NEED to play for my own sanity and to be happy!
I'm looking for musicians in a similar frame of mind that would like to gig twice a month (more or less depending on the situation). I'm mostly looking for a bass player and drummer to complete a trio, but would consider more members. I can sing lead, but don't consider myself a lead singer. The ultimate would be another member that can sing backup and lead.
Again, cash is not the motivation here (but a few hundred a month doesn't suck), the intent is to play some decent rooms, and having loads of fun.
As far as music, I'm into ANYTHING. I've done it all....classic rock, alternative, southern rock....or a nice combination of all.
One last thing...Since rehearsal and gigging time is at a premium, please consider your own experience as well. I'm looking for players that have the gigging experience, yet like me, are unable to go full time...Again, this is not a steadfast rule, but a guideline.
If you're interested, please contact me.
Thanks.

Bassist needed ASAP for a loud blues/rock band. Our album's just about done and it's gonna be killer. Crowes, Stripes, Stones, etc. influences. We're serious, and we need a serious bassist. Vocals obviously a plus.

We Killed our Bass Player...wanna join us?

Our bass player quit us after almost 3 years. What would you do? We had him trapped in a barn, we all had garden tools and....well, we beat the crap out of him. We would really like you to join our little group. We are pretty good, but not yet making money. We had our old bass player "shoulder mounted" cuz we liked him so much, and you....could be his successor! How's that for a deal. Wanna play classic rock and roll covers for a damn talented band?
Give us a shot! You won't be disappointed! We only hurt the ones we love! Here's a link to our website.
http://www.freewebs.com/onefootout/index.htm
Hope this might have gotten your attention!
Hell, we even have a talented keyboardist.
We rehearse on the east side of Cincinnti once a week and don't want to play bars. We'd rather make some serious money!
Thanks for reading this long story. It's all in fun...that's what we like to have....FUN!

Could you come up with the correct notes to F MIXOLYDIAN instantly?

posted: October 28, 2009, 12:04 PM

Yes you could! Even if you do not know a bit of music theory I can show you how to play each of the seven modes of the major scale in any key in just minutes. I have developed a way to give instant access to any mode using my primary scale. This is moved up or down the neck of the guitar or bass by just counting the frets. I have been soloing this way for over twenty-three years. There is no learning music theory; in fact it just goes around music theory completely. There is no memorizing note names, or needing to reading music. Need F# AEOLIAN? No problem. How about Eb LOCRIAN? You have it right now! You will have the right notes before the piano player can remember them! I can show you for ten dollars, and I will pay the postage. Write for part of the method, free. I can prove its not a scam.

http://www.modesmethod.mysite.com/cgi-bin/blog

From Modes Method users:
I really like your method, its nice and simple.--Brandon

Just got the info. this looks to be well worth the money and great for you to take the time to show your secrets, I have been playing for 20 years and still learning., this will help !!! --Danny

Aha! I have always thought that such a method existed, since the guitar allows the use of repetitive fingering patterns, and the counting of frets idea is fantastic!--Carlos

Lookin to start an original band with a post-rock/punk feel. A little on the pop side, with a metal streak. I've been playing for about three years, self taught, more of a writer than a jammer. Not interested in joining an established band. Influences are various and ranged. I've got about 4-8 songs in the works that I'd like to have on an EP before summertime. I'm looking for a bass player with a melodic style, someone to play almost like a lead gutarist. Slap skills are great too. Good vocals are a huge plus, a female would be perfect. A good punk drummer would be great, especially with some metal influences, who can also lay back and play poppy beats. If you have a practice space, wonderful. If you make electronic music, hit me up too. Think Brand New, Hard-Fi, Muse, The Bravery, The Killers, Spoon, Vampire Weekend, The Shins, MGMT, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, Portugal. The Man, Pink Floyd, Coheed&Cambria, Thursday, The Used, MeWithoutYou, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Yes, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Rage Against the Machine. Email me with anything you got to show off, and I'll get back to you with some of my stuff.

Savage Soul is looking for a new bass player. We're and energetic, no frills, old school influenced metal band. We're looking for someone who can 1. learn the current set of originals, 2. learn and help expand the current set of covers and 3. hit the ground running when it comes to writing and recording new originals.Influences include but are not limited to: Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Black Label, Pantera, Clutch, Metallica, Megadeth, some outlaw country like Hank III, anything from Danzig (Danzig, Samhain, Misfits), Rob Zombie and tons of other sleazy, slimy, balls out music. We're looking to add a new level of showmanship and technical proficiency to things. You don't have to be the greatest, but you have to really show a passion for playing balls out music and really putting a ton of heart into it.
