We're an all original band looking to add a keyboardist. We have guitar bass drums and vocals. We are in our 40's and write songs that sound a little like classic rock. Practice is once a week for 2 hrs. in Covington Ky. We have a demo cd and some mp3s we can send. We are looking for someone who can add some different types of keyboard sounds such as piano organ synth etc. Our songs are already written so you don't need to write music. Also vocals are a plus.

Local band looking for gigs

We are a 3-piece classic rock / oldies / easy listening band called "Midnight Louie" and we are looking for gigs. Bars are hurting from the smoking ban and it's getting harder to find work, so we recently downsized from 4 people to 3 to be able to charge less for an evening of great music. We play songs from the 40's all the way to the present day using some modern technology to "fill out" our sound. The group consists of guitar, keyboard, and drums. All 3 members sing and our vocals are great! If you want to hire us, e-mail me at hesterbergm@juno.com. We'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

Press Release:

ANNAMERCURY

Marinated together in early 2009 as the 5 member band like blending choice seasoned spices in a culinary treasure to create rock music for the world. Although, initially each member helms from different corners of the west region of the United States. They met and formed the band while living in Seattle, WA after a consistent time of artistically crossing paths. The underlining unspoken message the men want to say with their music is: “From the basement, to all the listening and visual audiences everywhere this is for you”.

“AM” (AnnAMercury) is comprised of Brady singing lead vocals, Jeff playing drums, Robin strumming the bass, with guitars being laced by both Pete and Ryan. All five share a mutual inner passion for music and a quiet determination to be as good as they possibly can be. The music that the band chooses to create is original in nature with a savory rock-n-roll flavor. And each member contributes by drawing on their own musical backgrounds in a combination of ways to make the songs happen.

After only seven months in the making the band is currently working on finishing its first songs to be recorded as an EP late summer in the legendary London Bridge Studio. Also, be sure to look for the band to begin their live public performances this coming November 2009 with much fanfare debut.

EP release date is scheduled for November 15th 2009...You don't want to miss it! Checkout and follow the band at: (www.myspace.com/annamercurylive) & (www.reverbnation.com/annamercury)

Thank you,
ANNAMERCURY

Looking for a Drummer

Looking for a Drummer

Guitar Player and Bass Player Looking for a Drummer. Looking to play ALL originals. Maybe some covers here and there. We have 12 FINISHED and SOLID songs, and Loads (20?) of others in various stages of completion.

We both sing, and our sound is a full sound. Maybe look for another member later, (keys or something) Just need someone to rock the drums, and if you wanna sing, cool! If you can’t just be in one band don’t waste your time.

We are in our late 20’s. Looking to play out in the Spring. We practice on the Weekends, Friday and Saturdays. Maybe change it to Fri and Sunday after football is over. We work on the Weekdays so weekends would have to suffer.

There are only 2 types of music to us, music we like and music we don’t. So we like a lot of different sorts or things.

Floyd, Zappa, Zeppelin, Dead, Dr. Dre, Steel Dan, Phish, Alice in Chains, Primus, AC/DC, Hendrix, STP, Nirvana, Rush, Tool, hopefully you get the idea...

We have practice space in Camp Washington. Right off 75.

Still interested?

Singer songwriter wanted

Original group on the Westside of Cincy seeks a singer who enjoys writing music. We are guitar, bass, drums and have material for 14 or so songs and would like a collaborator to help finish and play them live. We're late 30's early 40's but age isn't a factor for us. We play progressive rock for the most part and we can get you samples of our music on request. We're looking to play out and have some fun with this (we'd like to play Midpoint next fall) so if you'd like to rock the masses with your own material, give us a shout.

For immediate release,

Positive Image Productions
&
The Blue Wisp

Present:

Cincy Unity Holiday Jam
At The Blue Wisp
12-26-2009
5pm-10pm

Cincy Unity Holiday Jam is a collaborative effort of Positive Image Productions & The Blue Wisp Jazz Club to bring people together in unity to seek and celebrate peace; because without unity there is no way peace can be achieved.

Positive Image Productions, a subsidiary of Positive Image Arts Organization, hopes to contribute to building a peaceful and respectful world in which to live. We hope to be able to accomplish this, and many more positive achievements, through music, arts, entertainment and collaboration with other organizations.

Cincy Unity Holiday Jam will take place on the 26th of December, 2009, at the legendary jazz club, The Blue Wisp. The door of the event will be open to the public at 4pm, and the first performance will kick off at 5pm. There are 5 bands in the line up. Each band will get 15 minutes of set up time and 45 minutes of performance time. The bands in the line up are:

Souse
In the Spring of 2004, SOUSE was formed out of the ashes of the late progressive fusion band Final Exit. Three times nominated for “Best Jam Band” and "Best R&B/Funk Band" at the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards, SOUSE is a merger of key members of many notable regional funk-fusion and jam acts. Blending infectious melodies with layered rhythms and open improvisational passages, SOUSE continues to forge a unique sound and take their format in new directions. Drawing on keen musicianship and innate compositional skills, SOUSE has compiled an extensive library of original compositions while taking time to pay homage to their jazz and fusion influences. SOUSE is best experienced live and is currently busy promoting the release of their first full length CD, PUSH, at clubs and festivals throughout the Midwest.

Wade Baker
If one were attempting to design a prototype for the quintessential contemporary musician, trumpeter/fluegelhornist/bassist/composer Wade Baker would be an ideal model. A certified member of the hip-hop
generation, Wade's early aspirations in the world of hip-hop & rock music took precedence over the trumpet that he began playing in the sixth grade. When he reached twenty, his dedication to the art of jazz took shape. Rather than abandoning the music he loved, he simply applied its energy, spirit and fiercely proud intellectual rage to the jazz idiom, creating a synthesis that is truly contemporary. Baker has developed his sound from a wide variety of musical influences. He weaves together elements of R&B, Soul, Blues, Jazz, Rock & Roll and Hip-Hop into a progressive jazz style that pays tribute to its tradition

Chick Pimp
The ambition to experiment with different sounds is what brought the members of Chick Pimp, Coke Dealer at a Bar together. Jazz, folk, pop, and bluegrass influences lay the groundwork for what the UC News Record has dubbed "an improvisational frenzy". Following the release of their polkatronic debut record 'Bofa Deez' in July 2008, the band was awarded a CEA for "Best Experimental Artist" by CityBeat in 2008. 'Bofa Deez' was recognized as one of CityBeat's "Best Albums of 2008".

Chuck Land Band
Chuck Land Jr. grew up playing drums, guitar & piano at an early age. Eventually he developed a great love for the Hammond Organ. Chuck
incorporates many genres into his style and uses a variety of vintage
sounding instruments in his music.
Some of his influences consist of Billy Preston, The Meters, Robert Randolph, The Jazz Crusaders, Steve Winwood and many others. You never know who your going to see backing Chuck up. One thing you will see is a show full of energy & soul. For more info go to www.myspace.com/chucklandband

The Image Afro-beat Band
Afro-beat, a musical combination of western big band jazz with African instruments and languages, is a musical expression of peace, love, unity, truth and justice. The Image Afro-beat Band is comprised of talented musicians that come from different musical & cultural backgrounds to play the unique style of music known as Afro-beat. Using the power of music, the band hopes to create appreciation for cultural diversity, respect for life and to contribute to making the world a more peaceful and respectful place in which to live. United, we can do it.

The event is set to take place at:
The Blue Wisp
318 E. 8th Street
Between Broadway & Sycamore
in Downtown Cincinnati, OH.

The door will open for the public at 4pm, the event will start at 5pm and go till 10pm. The ticket to the event will be sold for $12 in advance and $15 at the door. People can call 513-266-2070 or email baoku@baokutcr.com for tickets. Additional information about the event can be found at:

Indie Rock Reggae band looking for keys or guitar w/ female harmonies

posted: November 6, 2009, 12:37 PM

The music is a mix of The Clash, The Police, Alkaline Trio, and lots of other stuff. Perhaps a bit of 311 or Incubus. Drums, 1 guitar, bass, and vocals. We currently have female backing/harmony vocals, but she's leaving in a couple of months due to school and scheduling impossibilities. We like the sound she added, so we're looking for something similar with the addition of keyboards(or possibly a 2nd guitar). We're pretty open-minded when it comes to writing, although we're hoping to continue to write songs that are dance-able.

We're a very goal-oriented band. We like to have a good time, but are very serious about doing what we can with the music. We currently have several local shows booked and are hoping to get out on the road for long weekends and perhaps a week or two in the near future, depending if the work schedule will tolerate it. We're not looking for anyone to quit the day job at this point. :D

If this sounds interesting, hit me up and I'll get you some songs that we have. We have 5 songs recorded professionally. I also have rough demos of the 3 or 4 others we're working on. We do a couple of "interesting" covers, too.

We are an all original band looking for a lead singer. We are in our 40's and consist of guitar, bass and drums. Our sound is kind of like an updated classic rock sound. We practice once a week in Covington. We need someone who can make practice once a week. Lyrics and music are already written for the songs so we just need someone to sing them. I am the lead guitarist and I am also doing the vocals for now. If you are interested, respond to this add and we will send you some mp3 demos that we have recently recorded.
