Original hard rock band seeks rhythm guitarist w/ backing vocal abilities

posted: November 21, 2009, 07:00 AM

Replycincimusician@gmail.com

3-piece original band seeks a rhythm guitarist with BG vocal abilities (vocals a must), or, potentially, a bassist with BG vocal abilities (allowing the current bassist to switch to rhythm guitar). Influences include Alice in Chains, Corrosion of Conformity, Monster Magnet, Sound Garden, etc., but with slightly faster tempos, and a taste of pop and straight ahead modern hard rock.

12+ songs are currently being finalized. While some of the songs could be augmented by additional/new guitar parts, a large portion of the role initially would be playing existing parts. As new songs are written, the rhythm guitarist would then be responsible for writing their own parts during the songwriting process. Vocally, applicants should be capable of accurate and aurally pleasing harmonies, and, potentially duet/co-lead parts.

The line-up currently includes Lead Vocalist/Guitarist, Bassist and Drummer. All three members are very experienced and capable players, and expect the same of any applicant. The goal is to complete the songwriting process and begin recording a full-length limited release CD in the next few weeks, with expected completion in early Spring of ’10. Depending on practice schedule and band development, the debut performance may precede or coincide with the CD release.

This is an additional project for the members, but we hesitate to call it a “side-project”. The band will perform regularly both locally and regionally. However, because of other project commitments, a heavy practice schedule is not possible. As a result, band members will need to do their ‘homework’ with the scratch demos recorded during previous practices and as part of the songwriting process, and come to practice prepared and ready to play. Practice schedule is ideally once a week, but may vary depending on members’ availability. Local performances are expected to be every 4-6 weeks, while regional performances will be booked as often as available.

Best fit would be in the mid-twenties to mid-thirties. However, a good fit is a good fit regardless of age (no one under 21 please). Male and female applicants are both welcome.

If all of this sounds good, please contact us. Rough demos and scratch tracks are available upon request to individuals showing true interest in the project.

Please contact cincimusician@gmail.com

Indie Rock Reggae band looking for keys or guitar w/ female harmonies

The music is a mix of The Clash, The Police, Alkaline Trio, and lots of other stuff. Perhaps a bit of 311 or Incubus. Drums, 1 guitar, bass, and vocals. We currently have female backing/harmony vocals, but she's leaving in a couple of months due to school and scheduling impossibilities. We like the sound she added, so we're looking for something similar with the addition of keyboards(or possibly a 2nd guitar). We're pretty open-minded when it comes to writing, although we're hoping to continue to write songs that are dance-able.

We're a very goal-oriented band. We like to have a good time, but are very serious about doing what we can with the music. We currently have several local shows booked and are hoping to get out on the road for long weekends and perhaps a week or two in the near future, depending if the work schedule will tolerate it. We're not looking for anyone to quit the day job at this point. :D

If this sounds interesting, hit me up and I'll get you some songs that we have. We have 5 songs recorded professionally. I also have rough demos of the 3 or 4 others we're working on. We do a couple of "interesting" covers, too.

Wanting to make or join cover band. We are a drummer and female vocals. We have our gear, but no practice space or PA. We want musicians with their own motivation. Learn the music on your own time and use practice to bring all the parts together and get timings down.

What we want to play is fun music. We have influences from KISS to Reo Speedwagon, Deana Carter to Atreyu. We will do country or rock, depending on what comes our way. Not wanting rap or metal. We want music that is fun to play and fun to watch. People with some sense of creativity and have the ability to make songs fun would be awesome.

We want to go out at least 2 or 3 times a month to make some decent money. If not showing up to practice, negativity, and drama is your game, we don't want you.

We want musicians who can play and are willing to get their music down so we can get up and out to play quickly.

Jackson Browne Tribute Band

I'm a drummer looking for other musicians interested in forming a Jackson Browne tribute band. I've seen him over a dozen times, including the recent show at PNC/Riverbend, and as usual he was great. I've been playing for over 35 years so I'm looking for quality players (bass, acoustic guitar, lead/slide guitar, piano, organ, fiddle, etc) and vocalists. I don't see this band playing out every weekend in bars but instead doing the occasional show at select venues. I've always been impressed Aja, the local Steely Dan tribute band, and would like this to be similar in terms of musicianship and replication of the songs.

We're petty solid on the instruments at this point but really need a female vocalist and another male vocalist.

Seeking: Male & Female/Gospel & Rock Singers (Recording Only)

Hello Fellow Vocalists,

Blues Evolution is recording a second CD, and one of the tunes is a secular but gospel sounding song that is begging for the sound of a large choir. Well, we can’t pull that off, but we can try to simulate a choir by overdubbing a variety of voices singing each part. We would love your involvement.

Our most immediate need is for HIGH SOPRANO. THE HIGHEST NOTE IS HIGH G (an octave plus a 5th above middle C that sits on the space on Top of the treble clef. It is the last note possible that is still connected to the staff before you need ledger lines.) We need someone who can hit most of the notes clustered around High E with confidence, tone and of course accuracy. Finally we want it to have some soul and sound like church.

Although we have lately been focusing on locating a soprano voice, we really need voices in all ranges and with various styles. However, YOU MUST HAVE ACCESS TO a PROTOOLS compatible computerized home recording software system to participate on this recording.

PLEASE GIVE A LISTEN to our Mp3 DEMO of In The Name of the Father by clicking on the link to that song at our web page at the Indaba Music site:

http://www.indabamusic.com/people/579044191

I hope you will take a stab at it and join us. Unfortunately (considering the number of voices needed) THIS IS NOT A PAYING OPPORTUNITY.

I so look forward to hearing from you and all the best with your musical adventure.

Yes!
Quinn

Lookin to start an original band with a post-rock/punk feel. A little on the pop side, with a metal streak. I've been playing for about three years, self taught, more of a writer than a jammer. Not interested in joining an established band. Influences are various and ranged. I've got about 4-8 songs in the works that I'd like to have on an EP before summertime. I'm looking for a bass player with a melodic style, someone to play almost like a lead gutarist. Slap skills are great too. Good vocals are a huge plus, a female would be perfect. A good punk drummer would be great, especially with some metal influences, who can also lay back and play poppy beats. If you have a practice space, wonderful. If you make electronic music, hit me up too. Think Brand New, Hard-Fi, Muse, The Bravery, The Killers, Spoon, Vampire Weekend, The Shins, MGMT, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, Portugal. The Man, Pink Floyd, Coheed&Cambria, Thursday, The Used, MeWithoutYou, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Yes, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Rage Against the Machine. Email me with anything you got to show off, and I'll get back to you with some of my stuff.

seeking elusive voice-slinger (preferably female)

greetings. i'm looking for a (preferably) female vocalist.
over the past several years and through a couple of different bands i've developed a slew of songs that never got completed, and now it's time to fix that. My main intention is to simply get these finished (I hate having all this material sitting in limbo) and get the music out there digitally. As for playing it out...the right person could definitely inspire me to dust off my gigging shoes.

also, while saying that i want to complete this music, i would also LOVE to find a partner in crime - a same-wavelength collaborator to move forward with, a killer lyricist would be perfect. the best projects i've been involved with have had that element, and i miss it terribly.

vocally, i need someone unique. i know i'm looking for the impossible, but i've got the time to do that now. think bjork, or imogen heap, or st vincent, or shirley manson, or the ting tings... these are just vague suggestions - what i really need is what -you- bring to the game. it's no good if the vocals just mimic someone else cover band style - these need to have their own feel.

it would be terribly cool if you play an instrument as well - bass or keys would be fantastic, but i'm open to suggestion, and it's -not- a requirement...just pie-in-the-sky-ing a bit.

while saying that i'm looking mainly for a female vocalist remains true, a male with the right quirk could also work. tmbg or otep mebbe.

i've got a page set up with a few of the tunes for you to peruse - go here: www.ioportauthority.com/auditions

if you're interested, email me or give me a call at 513-295-1230
looking forward to meeting you -
