Original hard rock band seeks rhythm guitarist w/ backing vocal abilities

posted: November 24, 2009, 07:04 AM

Replycincimusician@gmail.com

3-piece original band seeks a rhythm guitarist with BG vocal abilities (vocals a must), or, potentially, a bassist with BG vocal abilities (allowing the current bassist to switch to rhythm guitar). Influences include Alice in Chains, Corrosion of Conformity, Monster Magnet, Sound Garden, etc., but with slightly faster tempos, and a taste of pop and straight ahead modern hard rock.

12+ songs are currently being finalized. While some of the songs could be augmented by additional/new guitar parts, a large portion of the role initially would be playing existing parts. As new songs are written, the rhythm guitarist would then be responsible for writing their own parts during the songwriting process. Vocally, applicants should be capable of accurate and aurally pleasing harmonies, and, potentially duet/co-lead parts.

The line-up currently includes Lead Vocalist/Guitarist, Bassist and Drummer. All three members are very experienced and capable players, and expect the same of any applicant. The goal is to complete the songwriting process and begin recording a full-length limited release CD in the next few weeks, with expected completion in early Spring of ’10. Depending on practice schedule and band development, the debut performance may precede or coincide with the CD release.

This is an additional project for the members, but we hesitate to call it a “side-project”. The band will perform regularly both locally and regionally. However, because of other project commitments, a heavy practice schedule is not possible. As a result, band members will need to do their ‘homework’ with the scratch demos recorded during previous practices and as part of the songwriting process, and come to practice prepared and ready to play. Practice schedule is ideally once a week, but may vary depending on members’ availability. Local performances are expected to be every 4-6 weeks, while regional performances will be booked as often as available.

Best fit would be in the mid-twenties to mid-thirties. However, a good fit is a good fit regardless of age (no one under 21 please). Male and female applicants are both welcome.

If all of this sounds good, please contact us. Rough demos and scratch tracks are available upon request to individuals showing true interest in the project.

We're an all original band looking to add a keyboardist. We have guitar bass drums and vocals. We are in our 40's and write songs that sound a little like classic rock. Practice is once a week for 2 hrs. in Covington Ky. We have a demo cd and some mp3s we can send. We are looking for someone who can add some different types of keyboard sounds such as piano organ synth etc. Our songs are already written so you don't need to write music. Also vocals are a plus.

Band forming that will focus on Modern rock, 1990 - Current radio play and select Classic rock from the 80's. We currently consist of Rhythm Guitar/Keyboard, Bass and Drums. All members are from other local bands and have experience in playing out, booking, marketing and providing sound for bands.

Current Vacancies:
Vocalist
Guitarist (Someone who can cover both Lead/Rhythm parts as needed.)

The ideal person will be, 35 and 50, easy to get along with and willing to rehearse/practice as needed to get the new project up and running. We plan on playing out 2 to 4 times per month once established or as much as we all agree on, but in the beginning must be willing to play out as needed to develop our name and fan base.

Type Bands of Interest: Theory of A Deadman, Nickelback, Seether, Shinedown, Eve6, Buckcherry, Foo Fighters, Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, Green Day, Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, AC/DC, Collective Soul, U2 and whatever will get the girls and bars rockin'.

Cry Baby Bass Wah 105Q w/ power supply, $80

posted: November 19, 2009, 09:16 PM

Replymullinsed@hotmail.com

Designed for bass. Adds wah sound to mids and highs only. The low end is allowed to pass through and remain clear and punchy. Controls for wah volume and frequency width (Q) on the side of the housing. Functions perfectly. Sounds incredible. Extremely reliable. Good condition. Used but not abused. A number of marks from a couple years of stage use. Most marks don't show in the photos due to the camera's flash and white paint. Not bad at all. Buyer will certainly be happy with item's condition. Boss 9V power supply included. Asking $80 o.b.o.

Local band looking for gigs

We are a 3-piece classic rock / oldies / easy listening band called "Midnight Louie" and we are looking for gigs. Bars are hurting from the smoking ban and it's getting harder to find work, so we recently downsized from 4 people to 3 to be able to charge less for an evening of great music. We play songs from the 40's all the way to the present day using some modern technology to "fill out" our sound. The group consists of guitar, keyboard, and drums. All 3 members sing and our vocals are great! If you want to hire us, e-mail me at hesterbergm@juno.com. We'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

JackSquat is looking for sound guy to run with us at least 2 weekends (if not more) a month. We're already established and have a good mix of guys. Just need someone to bring some basic sound gear and lights, if possible. We typically play in Northern Kentucky, but we don't branch out much further. We may hit Lawrenceburg, IN and Cincinnati, OH as well. If interested, please contact Matt at 859-992-6774 or email mharden12@hotmail.com

Our setlist is at www.myspace.com/jacksquatrocks along with an older video from well over a year ago.

Mid twenties drummer looking for band. Been playing for roughly ten years and have been unable to find a band that has the sound i'm looking to play. Listen to everything from jazz to to metal so I have an eclectic taste in music and are able to bring more then just a basic beat to a song. Influences showcasing the type of music i'm looking to play are Foo Fighters, Perfect Circle, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, Alice in Chains, Primus, Incubus, Rage Against the Machine, The Who. The list can go on but thats just to give an example. Also for as serious as I want to take this I also wanna have fun with it because it's supposed to be, why else would i wanna do it?

Looking for a Drummer

posted: November 15, 2009, 02:09 AM

Looking for a Drummer

Guitar Player and Bass Player Looking for a Drummer. Looking to play ALL originals. Maybe some covers here and there. We have 12 FINISHED and SOLID songs, and Loads (20?) of others in various stages of completion.

We both sing, and our sound is a full sound. Maybe look for another member later, (keys or something) Just need someone to rock the drums, and if you wanna sing, cool! If you can’t just be in one band don’t waste your time.

We are in our late 20’s. Looking to play out in the Spring. We practice on the Weekends, Friday and Saturdays. Maybe change it to Fri and Sunday after football is over. We work on the Weekdays so weekends would have to suffer.

There are only 2 types of music to us, music we like and music we don’t. So we like a lot of different sorts or things.

Floyd, Zappa, Zeppelin, Dead, Dr. Dre, Steel Dan, Phish, Alice in Chains, Primus, AC/DC, Hendrix, STP, Nirvana, Rush, Tool, hopefully you get the idea...

We have practice space in Camp Washington. Right off 75.

Still interested?
email me at

(don’t let the address scare you, its my junk mailbox, but I’LL BE CHECKING!)
